I have the same problem with a samsung intensity. White screen. Only got it a couple of months ago.
You need to go to an at&t store and tell them about it that happend to me and they fixed it!1

If the screen is blank but the phone still works (can make calls, ect.) make sure the phone is not locked and press "OK", 9, #, 587846, then "OK" if that does not work take it in to a store to get it looked at.
