You can buy a head cleaner for it. To do it properly you should use a special cloth that comes on a stick, it is made especially for VCR heads and Video heads. As the tape passes the heads, it leave a minute amount of film from the tape. Eventually builds up and collects moisture. Another way is to use a long Q tip dipped in Alcohol
