The Sims 3 is a life-simulation computer game, a sequel to the best-selling Sims 2. It is developed by the Sims studio and runs on Mac and Windows computers. However, recently new versions have been developed for mobile phones too.
Sims 3 has the same concepts as the previous games, where players design their own Sims as well as create activities and develop relationships which are similar to real life. There are even Sim houses and neighborhoods, where the computer characters can live and where players can act out many real-life situations both in, and outside of their Sim homes.
Players can develop skill-dependent abilities if they perform well in social interactions throughout the game. Other skills include guitar playing, appliance upgrades, painting, writing, and various other creative skills. Each Sim can increase their skill through practice, teaching themselves about the skill by reading a book, and even taking a class. These skills can be learned as early as the toddler days.
Sims characters can also earn rewards through a new feature called 'Opportunities'. This feature involves challenges that are randomly presented to each player depending on various aspects of their lifestyle such as their job, skills, or relationships. Certain opportunities may arise in the career aspect such as staying overtime, which can result in a pay rise and even a cash bonus.
The Sims 3 game is available as a standard edition and as a collectors' edition. The standard edition includes the core game's first release, while the collector's edition features the Sims 3 core game, a 2GB flash drive with a Green Carabiner: A European sports car game download, plus stickers, and a hints and tips guide.
The Sims 3 game is one of the most realistic and enjoyable life-simulation games released to date.
