You go to apple .com (ipod company) then you iPod plus iTunes and make your account also don't use credit card and on your pod you type yo info name and pass
When you sync it with iTunes it will tell you to enter your Apple ID. If you don have one I think it says you can register it at the bottom of the window. I havent done that since..... Whoa. But that's probably how its done.
