Can mac computers or android phones get viruses?

Yes, Apple Macintosh, despite what fans say, can get viruses. It is not as likely as a Windows computer, because Windows is more of a target at the moment. Android is also vulnerable to viruses. Nothing is 100% safe from hackers and those with less than honorable intentions. Good luck to you my friend.

"Yes - but but for Macs, pretty much exclusively via Java / Javascript exploits of some form or other, that can affect anything that has java capability.

The commonest problems with Android devices are no so much actual viruses but ""Free apps"" that are malicious / spyware / steal data & contact info etc.

They are really classed as Trojans as the user installs them voluntarily.

And, there are thousands.. The app security is being improved, but you definitely need to be careful.

A virus/malware scanner such as Lookout is essential on any Android device."
