I discovered a LiveKernelReports file/map on my computer. Could it be malware or some kind of tracker?

Seen a livekernelreports file and worried what it could be? Identified files are often associated with malware or even SPYware.

I'd say you don't need to worry too much. Liverkernelreports are a type of report generated to show, in Linux (a programming language) what the subsystems of windows or what your computer resources are.

Essentially, these are generated by Windows and not something to be worried about.

Are you having any other problems like your computer crashing at random times for instance? That might be a sign of malware

When looking for signs to establish if your device has been compromised by malware include using some of the following technologies:

  • Microsoft Process Explorer

  • Kaspersky's GetSystemInfo

  • Secunia inspection scanners

  • Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool

  • General anti-malware enforcers

LiveKernelReports is home to dump files, which are ongoing information logs that Windows keeps. For now, it is not malware. It is just wasting your computer memory and might have a negative impact on your computer running speed. If you are still worried about it, try to use an anti-malware scanner to perform a thorough scanning on your computer, then you can see if LiveKernelReports files is a malicious file.
