The best way to have your website information be searchable with Google is to submit your website to Google Webmaster. Here are some instructions on how to do that.
- The first thing you need to do is go to Webmaster Tools.
- You should now log into Webmaster Tools with the same account that you use on all other Google platforms.
- You should now be able to add your site to Webmaster Tools. Simply enter the URL of your website into the "Add a site" box. For example, "http://www.yourwebsite.com".
- Once your site is submitted, you then need to add a sitemap from your website that allows Google to "crawl" it and and add it to its search engine.
- Go to to "Site Configuration" on the left hand sidebar.
- Navigate to "Sitemaps" and click "Add Sitemap".
- You now need to enter your website's sitemap. This is usually along the lines of "www.yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml".
- Click "Submit Sitemap".
That's all you need to do. Google will now use your sitemap to index your website on its search tool. This method is a great advantage if you want your website to climb to the top of Google search.
