Well, general tips would be to not hold in the power button as it would waste more fuel and to wait until you are directly behind the vehicle before you fire as they will speed away as soon as you shoot. Also if it helps, fuel isn't wasted when you go backwards, but this can be time consuming and slow. Hope this helps.
