Yes, you should be able to. There are some details you will need to learn about your Sony Bravia TV before you buy the speakers. It is important to know the inputs and outputs you have on the back of the television. For example does it have 2 HD component video, 1 component video hybrid, 2 composite video, 3 analogue audio, 1 RGB, audio in rear, and 1 audio output in rear and one digital audio in rear?
You need to know exactly what audio set-up you have with your Sony Bravia TV. For example, say you are hooking up a computer; you would need an output on the computer and an audio input on the television. When you go from your DVD player to the television you also have an audio cable that is needed to input the sound from the DVD into the TV so that it will sound out of the speakers you have.
Most individuals will find at least one option on the back of their TV that will allow for external speakers, even with Sony Bravia TVs. If you lack the proper output you may need to buy a theatre system with the small Bose speakers. You would obtain a receiver to hook up to the television, and the speakers would then go through the receiver. It might cost a little more, but depending on the inputs and outputs you have on the Sony Bravia TV model you may find this is your only option.
As you should be aware you want the television sound to be output through the speakers thus you need an audio connection that will allow the external speakers to be hooked up. You also need to make sure you can find the right connection for that situation.

I've got exactly the same need:  A Sony Bravia TV (with RCA audio output jacks) -- and I need to connect two small speakers to assist a partly-deaf person.   I don't want to use a separate amplifier.  What speakers will work?

Bose no doubt have a solution for your TV speaker wise. You may have to buy a system which has its own amplifier and connect these to the TV via scart, component or even basic RF connections. Equally something like this will allow you to connect the playstation 3, you really want to connect them via digital out to digital in on the Bose system for the best quality.

I am looking for the same info. I don't want a real home theater system, just a way to give my partially deaf father-in-law his own speaker to sit near him so he won't disturb the whole neighborhood while he watches tv.
