Just defeat red and then go to prof.oak and he will give you kanto strters you chose out of 3 thats it.and if you go the mr.pokemon you get red orb with that you can get gouden

You don't need it just go to the town that has dragons den (in johto to upper right corner) go to the house with a sigh in front of it, then there is a guy that can make pokemon forget hm moves.
