In the beginning when telephones where not so many . You had to crank the side to get a operator . As time went on the telephone changed in style more people had them . You still had to get the operator for a number . Then the rotor or dial came to be . You could dial direct and had to use a prefix before the number . Example- Prescott 5-4910 or PR-5-4910 . There where no aria codes . You still had to get the operator to make a long distant call . Then there was the proverbial party line . Some time up to 3 to 5 people share the same line . Then it went down to just two people on the same line . Phones only came in one color at that time . Black ! You only had one telephone in the house . That was most of the time in the kitchen .  Again as time went on people started to get privet lines . Telephones came in colors and styles . Does anyone remember the princess phone ? I would say that the phone has changed the world with communication universally . Society can't live with out there phone . Lives have been saved . Businesses have been started and ended . Banking , schooling , buying selling . Most everything is by the Telephone . One thing hasn't changed people will never stop talking . Good bad or indifferent . The phone is here to stay .

Better and easier communication, connects everyone together so everyone gets access to many things such as help (like 911 when someone is dying or something)
however, it also damages our personal privacy because the government can wire tap and etc

It has affected the society obviously in several ways. Before the telephone was invented, people had to travel distances, even if they were long, to communicate and keep in touch with others. When the telephone was  invented, people got the possibility to avoid travelling. The invention has brought negative changes as well. The telephones are today produced in industrial conditions, and telephones are made of rough substances, which all pollute the environment in great ways. The pollutions contribute unfortunately to the Greenhouse effect.

Yes as it has developed wireless and new flashy designs. Most of the new designs happened in 1960-1970 as fashion was classed very important. Also the technology has changed as you can speak for longer as I said before it is wireless and lots of other key changes.....

The impact on society was that the telephone helped people talk to each other from far and close distances without meeting them personally. It saved a lot of time and money. It was any easy process and it had better communication standards as well. It connected everyone together and it was easy to get help or to call ans say hi. It was invented in the 1876.

Telephone numbers have got longer.  They are smaller and portable.  I can remember working at my first job on a modern switchboard and I had to insert huge plugs to answer and then pull down a switch to buzz the person I wished to connect with.  One I even had to turn a handle to make it ring and the extension numbers were like dolls eyes and opened and shut as the connection was made.  Thanks for reminding me how old I am lol.

Using the information in "Anguished Cries in a Place of Silence," along with your own experience and observation, explain the importance of museums and historical sites that help preserve the past for future generations.

We can now call long distance calls, the size of them used to be huge. I remember when there was a huge telephone in my car.

Telephones made the world shrink in technology because when you  call and talk to somebody on the phone its like if they are in the same room next to you.
