Is my internet good enough for online gaming such as Battlefield and other FPS games? It has a ping (or latency) of 40 m/s, and a download speed of about 5.0 mbps

I think you should be fine with 99% of the games. This site has some good info for you to compare.

Yes I think that's good enough for playing the game like Battlefield.
