Depends what product you're looking for. Sony makes just about everything electronic but some products are more innovative than others. Their TV's for instance are top notch but their car audio products are just average. Research your product through consumer reports or customer reviews before deciding on a brand and model.
I think so, never had any trouble with anything Sony that I've owned.
I have to agree with JayP, their TVs are the top of the line, in fact at one point in time most TV manufacturers used Sony picture tubes. Many of their other products are middle grade, but a good choice. As far as things like stereos and such they are good, but if you want to pay the bucks you can get a lot better, but it's gonna cost you.
I can say that Sony is a good brand because it is still thriving and even if it timid as of the moment unlike the very obvious clash between Apple and Samsung. Sony is like an employee doing there job, minding their own business while other employees compete in a evident way.
Sony is a good brand for me. I have used Sony Xperia E3. Its a beautiful phone. It works smooth and fast. Good feature set and decent to good build quality.
