Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive internet service that would be good for streaming videos from services such as Netflix and Hulu?

Netflix rules the streaming world having the biggest library to stream. You can try Vudu movies and Tubitv if you need  Netflix and Hulu are paid service. Netflix is for movies and TV shows while Hulu is popular for its live TV channels. Hulu live local channels are what people opt for this live tv service.
