What do you think when mobile search will crush desktop? Is it a matter of years or maybe just months?

There was an article that I read awhile back that stated we are living the mobile era. With the creation of the smart phone as well as the tablet, our lives have become far more mobile then ever before. I think this could be right around the corner if it isn't here already. Personally, my cell phone is used for 90% of my internet usage, while I use my PC mostly for gaming. In fact, all of my answers on Blurtit have been done on my mobile device. Good luck to you.

I also came across similar article and I was suspicious at the beginning as this was like an year ago but every single day I realize this will happen any time soon, if it isn't here already just like you mentioned.

But the usage of Desktops won't go down as they are still important these days. We may be living in a mobile era, but not all the tasks can be done using a Mobile or a Tablet!!

As I beta-test games for two different companies, the larger screen monitors are a must for gaming. I can't see desktops going by the wayside for some time yet! Besides, desktops and laptops have some more functions that smaller mobile devices don't. All the games I test come out for desktops and laptops before they release some of them for other devices. It'll be many years before the desktop goes away.

But guys I am not talking about mobile technology crushing our desktop machines, this is not my point. I also agree that there are tasks ( games, movies software products) that are best to be done on a PC.. my point was whether mobile search (Google for example) will pass over desktop search. Actually, I just read a report from Google that it is a fact now: http://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/google-reports-mobile-searches-now-top-desktop-queries-1.2359656
