First off, I scan it with Malwarebytes to make sure it's clean. Then I usually look and see if there are any reviews on the site. I don't buy or pay for anything on any site that even looks suspicious at all. As there are so many that are scams it can be hard to tell. If I don't know it, I stay away from it. Stay with established well known sites to be safe!
