Why does no sound comes out from my stereo?

I had a similar problem a few months ago. The speaker sounded a bit muffled and unclear to me; I didn't know what it was. I found some tips on this website and did everything mentioned; in the end, it turned out that the speakers were not connected well. Also, check that the settings on the AV receiver are correct, especially if you are buying new speakers; sometimes, the settings that worked for the old speakers do not work for the new pair of speakers.
