Are celebrities on Ello?

This is a tricky question, as the celebrities who are most likely to use Ello are the celebrities most keen to protect their identities.

Since Facebook launched its crackdown on unverifiable user names, ostensibly to lower the number of trolls and spam accounts, many people have left the network, as they cannot use they real names for their Facebook accounts. This includes members of the LGBTQ community, who may be persecuted, or even prosecuted, if it was found out they are homosexual (in certain countries).

Certain Celebrities Can't, or Won't, Use Their Real Names for Facebook

A rap artist may have set up a Facebook account under his stage name, as fewer people would know their real name, or a celebrity may post under an assumed name for the sake of privacy and to avoid trolls. As they may no longer be able to do this through Facebook, Ello, with its tolerance of false user names, may have just become the place of choice for celebrities to post to their friends, especially as many celebrities are sympathetic with the LGBQT cause.

Therefore, after there are celebs on the social network, it is doubtful that they are likely to tell the world they have joined Ello.
