There really wasn't that much in the field of telecommunications tbh, pagers or "beepers" were pretty much in use and fax machines and Rolodex were common in most offices.These were products of the mid 80s that were popular before the "internet era".
Back in the early late 80's early 90's we had Beepers and cassette tapes and that was considered "high tech" lol We even had our own alphabet using numbers. Lmao Till this day I still know how to decode numbers on a pager into a word/sentence.
