One of the risks is that if it is a large piece fo software it will mean that it could have the potential of taking up a large amount of RAM and therefore slow the computer down not only for the short term but potentially perminantely as it will require the computer to frequently use page files. Although this doesnt normally happen with small pieces of software, It would be more frequent or likely to occur with larger software. For example: With operating systems. Again it completely depends on the RAM capacity and the Software size.
