Try this one on. Tell your friends and relatives that you don't have enough to spend on presents this year. You won't give them gifts, and you won't expect any.

There is no point in reducing future income for gifts, especially when other people will give you stuff you don't want or need, in return. Find another way to celebrate. Things are tough all over.

If you have good credit you can usually apply for deferred payments from most of the major companies. If you have no credit history, you will not be approved.

Contact the social services at Good Will and the Salvation Army and ask then for help.
