It is generally dependant on heat and the duration the short circuit would last.     300 degrees celsius is a generalisation as the allowable rise in temperature for a short circuit.     I calculate the current rating (not short circuit rating to be approximately 116A     If that were to withstand a short at 8kA short for 3.6 seconds (roughly)     i.e. It would heat up by 60 degrees C every second     Tory
