Have a look at this website; there’s lots of information about downloading so you can convert AVI to a DVD without there being a watermark, for free: www.imoviesoft.com/products/dvd-maker.html If you want a really professional job, though, and to be able to do some of your own editing then you may be interested in the iMoviesoft DVD Maker. It is not free, but only costs $35.95.

With the iMoviesoft DVD Maker, you will be able to convert videos to DVD, and to burn them. It’s not just AVI that you can convert, either; you will be able to convert MPEG; MOV; and MP4, as well as others, and you will be able to decide whether you want PAL or NTSC format.

You will be able to create your own DVD menu if you want to, using your own images and music in order to create your own soundtrack. If the video that you want to convert is not perfect, you will also be able to edit it by trimming, cropping and changing effects. Ironically, you will also be able to add your own watermark, so that others can’t use it satisfactorily!

The iMoviesoft DVD maker is very user friendly (in fact, it is quite fun to use) and is compatible with Windows 7; XP, 2000, NT and Vista. It also has the advantage of being fast so you won’t have to wait forever before you can watch and enjoy your DVD.

If you are worried that you are not quite technically minded for all of this and so you won’t be able to use it, then you have no need to worry; there is 24 hour on line support for the iMoviesoft DVD maker, so you can be assured of the best service at all times.

So I'm using avi2dvd ver. O.46 and when I choose the output, do I put the destination as my dvd burner drive?

I know a video converting software called Video Download Capture. It is an all-in-one tool, which allows users to download videos, convert videos, and record screen. You won't get any watermarks using this tool.

I recommend that you use Video Converter Studio. It's a professional tool. With it you can easily convert avi to dvd. And you won't get any watermark after converting.

I heard there is free version of nero, but I didn't find it.

This is why I turn to wondershare dvd burner...which is not free!
But works very well, run smoothly and smartly.
Convert all popular video to DVD files and burn them onto blank dvd.
It still supports to customize menus and background music when menu is displayed.

Hope it helps.
