My PS2 Slim Line Game System Keeps Freezing Up On Me...What Causes This?

Sometimes dusty or dirty games will freeze, so will games that are scratched. If it is doing this to all games, something is probably wrong with the cd lazer. If the ps2 is more than 4 years old, you may want to get the lazer replaced or just buy a new playstation 2

1. How long into a session until it begins to freeze?
2. Does it do this for all games, or just a few that you can name?
3. Does the lens generate excessive noise during the freeze, or is the machine silent?

It could be that you keep pulling out the game with out turning it off or you take out the controller out of the system
