Does the internet encourage democracy?
It can. It can also encourage socialism, or communism, or a specific religion. It is an election year here in the US and all the candidates are using social media to try to reach voters. And there are the news outlets using their sites to cover the campaigns. On the flip side you have ISIS using the internet to recruit people.
