Have you ever heard of the " TOR" browser? I've read about it in two books now. Anyone ever looked at it?

I have heard of TOR before

But full anonymity seems too good to be true.

Gun and drug trafficking also. Feds use it to find illegal activities but it's almost impossible to trace someone on it.

That's once reason it was so popular with AM folks.

I read about it in the Millennium series. That's what stirred my interest. See my answer.

I downloaded a copy to see what it was all about but so far haven't used it.

It's the only means of accessing the "dark web" and can be used in other ways as well. I'm a little reluctant to step away from the protection some of my Firefox add-ons provide.

If you're looking for privacy or secrecy on the web, TOR (The Onion Ring) is the way to go but Firefox claim their "Private Browsing" (Shift/Control/P) function gives plenty of protection by itself.

i've used it a few time because yahoo kept suspending my answers accounts so i tried to mask myself lol.

but after hearing tons of bad things about the deep web, i got scared and stopped using it because i didn't want to come across anything bad.. Luckily, I have a chromebook now so thats all i use :D
