I think it's true that not all body-types are represented equally in video games, especially female characters.

Although, to be fair there are plenty of unrealistic male characters out there too. We don't all look like this:

Some do, like in the game Dead or Alive.

Not really. First off, it's a video game. Secondly, the only people who have issue with it are obese feminists. Which are all the way on the other side of the body scale. They insist on redrawing characters with a muffin top.

You're telling me Laura Croft with a weight issue would be able to dodge dungeon traps, climb ledges, and fight evil mystical creatures? Or someone like Jade taking part in a world fighting Moral Kombat tournament is going to look like Rosie O'donnell?

Yes, there are a lot of people out there with good physiques. They eat to live, not live to eat.

Impossible standards. Lol okay. Not everyone can be a billionaire, but most can be a millionaire sooner or later. Not every woman is going to have 15% bodyfat with a bust and buttocks. But anybody can have 15-25% bodyfat in general. Meanwhile those in the 35% or even 50% say it's impossible! Much like those at the very bottom saying it's impossible. The similarity between those two things is just having to work for it.

Angelina Jolie pulled it off pretty well. Oh wait, let me guess, it was because she ate healthier apples than everyone else. And hired expensive trainers to teach her how to do body movements no one else can do without paying for an expensive trainer.

Uhh.. yeah. For both there's simple steps you follow. Follow it, and ta da!

Go to college in a professional field, intern, get a job, budget, invest, save, retire. Worked for pretty much all my friends, roommates, family, and relatives who followed the basic steps. Sure some are better off than others due to risk taking, entrepreneurial spirit, or higher aspirations. But for the most part, nobody is struggling or forced out of their homes due to gentrification.

Weigh the ingredients, cook the food, portion the food, you eat the certain amount of food, and plug it into a food diary. You want more food? You go outside or on the treadmill and run for a few. Not losing weight? Lower the calories or work out more. Simple. Everyone who has done it right has made progress.

Most woman I know, who tend to be the empowering "becoming the person you can be type", don't give a damn. In fact, they know it's a video game. Some enjoy playing video games. Some think nothing of it. Because they're too busy improving themselves and holding themselves to their own standards. The people who don't agree with them tend to be fat anyway, which they don't want to be.
