Which websites are affected by Heartbleed?
There are a fair few websites that were affected by Heartbleed, and I've outlined some of the more common ones below:
- Tumblr
- Yahoo
- Gmail
- Yahoo Mail
- Amazon Web Services
- Etsy
- GoDaddy
As you can see, a lot of the commonly used websites have been affected by Heartbleed. Luckily, the websites have now been patched so the risk is eliminated if you now change your passwords to any accounts you have on the above list.
It's also important to note that other sites not necessarily affected by Heartbleed should have their account passwords changed too. This list includes Facebook, Twitter, eBay etc.
What is Heartbleed? The Heartbleed bug is one of the most serious threats to internet security. It allows potential hackers to access account information such as password, credit card information, and personal details.
It's definitely worthwhile taking the time to change the passwords to all of your online accounts. In nothing else, it will give you peace of mind that you're unlikely to be affected.
