I have seen that many online business website have added live chat support solution on their website. Does that really work? Please share your experience of using live chat on websites with me?

I have seen few working and they are really useful. But most of them when you click on Live Chat, you will get a message that they are offline currently,but you can leave a message and they will call you back when are online.
