The weird thing about Netflix is that, even though they have so many shows on movies on there now (I remember in the early days when the choice was a lot more limited).
And yet, despite the complex user monitoring, social media data, and suggestion algorithm's they have in place, Netflix never seem to suggest anything new or ground-breaking to me.
Sometimes the suggestions are not too bad, but there are lots of times when I want to discover a completely new show or movie that none of my friends have watched (making Netflix social data irrelevant) or that is not like anything I've seen before (making viewing history irrelevant).
That's where I go to review sites like the one's mentioned above.
