What do you think of a website that doesn't notify you that your account has been removed?

Depends on the reason I believe. I know it isn't the same thing but I have several Twitter accounts for my business and I block anyone who is trolling or being a nuisance. I don't have time to waste notifying people. I expect some websites are the same when faced with unwanted behavior

As the person in charge of moderating Blurtit.com, I can say it'd make sense to give a personal explanation to any genuine user about why their account has been suspended, blocked or deleted.

However, there are also plenty of accounts created on Blurtit which, frankly, won't care whether they get a notification either way - these type of accounts are usually terminated without any prior communication.

Sounds harsh?

In reality, the only accounts that get treated in this way are spammers who post repeated answers or comments trying to link to or promote their business. These profiles don't contribute anything positive to Blurtit (their answers are often either badly written, or copied and pasted from somewhere else on the web).
