Donno exactly, My HP DV3000 gives an idle temp about 62C which I think is a bit high....
This might help you, If you lost your display due to overheating, cover the ventillatoin and fan holes arround and under the notebook, Switch it ON and cove it with a blanket or turkey for about 30-45minuts. Then turn it OFF and leave it to cool for 20-30mins.
Now turn it on, Your display will be working fine. But this is only a temporary fix.
Try the copper piece fix found in Youtube.com and
"Undervolting CPU"--->Google them. For a permanent fix to cool down the temps.
