In the US, why are there more couples shacked up rather than married? Is that good or bad?

The "trendy" right-on liberal party line would be something like " because people are hedging their bets and waiting to see if they can improve their long-term odds by making sure they're emotionally and financially secure with each other ".My response to that is - what a crock. It's just another sign of the times that we're living in a self-centred and pleasure-oriented society, where morals and Christian values and principles are being abandoned.Standards that uphold the sanctity and permanence of marriage are being ignored and not maintained. It's far better to offend trendy social types than to offend God and transgress his Scripture.

Because it saves the cost of a divorce, a large percentage of marriages end up in divorce, costing heaps for the couple who are divorcing, with the cost ending up in some fat cat lawyers pocket. If they don't get married no divorce costs. ''Poor Lawyers'' :((
