Identify what to look for in order to determine if a website would be a suitable source for an academic paper?

Website information suitable for an academic paper would defiantly have sources. Wikipedia does sources but many people could change the content without updating it and removing the source. So one have to find a website with that has the sources and those sources would have to be checked. Since the WWW is mostly rewritten over and over and over again you would point to more trusted sites. Encyclopedia's that have hard covered books and online sites would be a nice start. One is www.britannica.com
