I don't know what your purpose is. If it's a boiler with a hot water reservoir, it should be on all the time. Otherwise you water will be lukewarm parts of the day and this poses a risk to get legionella bacteria in your water causing legionnaire's disease. Which can be deadly.

You can purchase a timer made for that purpose at the major hardware stores.

You pick a location for the timer (near the breaker box makes it easier) and run the circuit from the breaker to the timer and your existing cable must then go to the timer .

Instructions come with the timer and they are quite simple to follow.
