Facebook.com - as a domain - has been around since March 1997, but it didn't become the social communication tool that we know and love until August 2005.

Amazingly, the basic color scheme and core style of the site hasn't changed since then.

Facebook has been around since 2004 when Mark Zuckerberg created "The facebook" for Harvard College students. It then turned into just 'facebook' in 2006 when they bought the url www.facebook.com
