Hold the up arrow on the select switch for 5 seconds, and then while still holding the up arrow, push and hold the reset switch until the hour starts to flash.

Did you figure this out yet? It's in the manual - but your manual is probably in the same shape as mine - lost for the moment! I pressed and held the up arrow on the select switch, let go and then press and hold the reset for about five seconds. That got the clock flashing and I could advance the time. Good luck - B in CT
