There is now the ability to have a password on every piece of technology that you own to make it safe, protected and personal. However, these passwords are easily forgotten. On an iPod Touch, the home screen cannot be accessed if you do not enter the password correctly, which prevents you from using anything on your device. But the solution is simple.

What makes the iPod Touch ideal in these situations is that they can easily be reset. All that needs to be done to the device is to ensure that it is returned to the original settings, the process of this is quick and simple. Plugging the device into iTunes will ensure that it is reset and a new password can be created, hopefully something much easier to remember!

Ensuring that the iPod Touch is in recovering mode is going to make the process effective. There’s no need to worry about purchasing a new device, taking it to the nearest Apple store or to call customer services. Quick and efficient, the process can be done as many times as it is found necessary.

Forgetting the password every other week isn’t going to make a difference as to whether you can reset and correct the iPod Touch’s settings. There aren’t any restrictions that are going to prevent the device from being able to be returned to the original settings.

As soon as the iPod Touch is recognized on iTunes it will immediately correct itself and be ready to use. Panicking isn’t going to make the device fix itself; it isn’t broken or damaged and is easily fixable!

Most people would suggest you to put iPod touch into DFU mode or Recovery Mode, or in the worst cases, factory reset your iPod. Yes, these are all possible ways. Instead of running through 3-4 steps to enter iPod Recovery Mode

First off, you need to have access to the original computer that you synced the iPod with. Next, you are going to need to put the iPod into recovery mode:

1. Unplug the iPod
2. Start iTunes
3. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears and turn off the iPod
4. Hold down the Home button and, while continuing to hold it down, plug in your USB cable. Continue to hold down the Home button until iTunes gives you the message "iPod detected in recovery mode".
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to restore your iPod.

Hold the home button and the power button at the same time. When it turns off release the power button but keep holding the home button for 8 more seconds. Then plug it in the computer and iTunes should pop-up saying it is in recovery mode. Then you restore it. It should work fine after that.

My friend told me that if I hold down the power, and the home buttons for about ten seconds, that the apple sign would appear and my itouch would be reset, however she failed to mention that this did not undo my passcode, I still had to enter it, this information is only useful if you have no pascode lock on your itouch.

Go to itunes and you will find a place to reset it, you will lose your apps but can download them again for free, even the ones you paid for. And stuff like how many times you have played a song will be lost, but music will usually not be lost, I'm not sure. Be safe and back up your music

Okay, this is a simple one. Your going to have to reset the entire thing unfortunatly, this will erase all apps, but no worries! You can redownload all your apps from the app store for free, or resync your apps from the data saved on your computer. Okay, there are two ways to reset your iPod. HFU mode and the manual restore mode. To put your iPod into DFU mode hold down the power button and the middle button for 10 seconds then let go of the power button but keep holding the middle button. This might take some patience to do. To do a manual restore just click on the restore button.
