If you do not have a volume control on your speakers, or if it is up all the way, then look at the bottom right corner of the screen when Windows comes up. You will see an icon that looks like a lob sided circle, hover the mouse around it and it will say "volume". Click on the icon (left click) and the volume bar will appear. If the MUTE box is checked, then uncheck it, use the mouse button to raise the volume control up to a comfortable "pop". You are done. You may have to reboot to hear Windows come back up but I just go onto the internet and check the volume by playing one of the news videos
