If you have forgotten the password that you have for your Gmail account you need not worry! You have reset the password for the account by answering a security question that you will have in place. If can answer this correctly, you will be able to reset the password quickly and easily, so you can get straight onto your account and read all of the e-mails that you may need for work or social purposes. You will not have to worry about creating a new account and telling everyone about the new address - such as friends and family - when you can keep the Gmail account that you have and continue to use it successfully.

As this system is in place, you will not have to worry if you forget your password. It all happens to us! With the internet providers that we use today we never have to enter our passwords as they are saved for us, but when we use a different laptop or computer we are stuck when it comes to remembering that password that we may have created some time ago! As long as you have a security question that you are never going to forget the answer to, there is going to be nothing for you to worry about and you can have peace of mind that you are not going to have to create a new account all the time.

Ensuring that you use the security question to your advantage, you will have no troubles with it comes to forgetting your password and needing to create a new one. You will never have to create a new e-mail address again! Let’s just hope you don’t forget the security question answer!

If you are asking for getting the password back for your own Gmail account, you can go to the gmail.com directly, or open the Google account path.

On the two paths, you can get your password back by providing your phone number or another email you have set before to retrieve your password. I have searched out a guide article for you, hoping it is helpful to get your password back.

When you have forgotten your Gmail password . . . Gmail still knows it.

Change your Gmail password frequently, they said, and so you did. Now, of course, you remember the password you had last week or even last month. But the current Gmail password? Who knows besides Google? The good news is that by going through a validation process, you can set a new Gmail password – say, last week's – however, and regain access to your Google account.

To reset your forgotten Gmail password and recover access to your account:

Make sure you either:

The questions Gmail asks to help verify your Gmail account may include the following, not necessarily in this order:

A previous password: If you have changed your Gmail password and only remember an older one, you can enter it.

Verification using a code (with 2-step authentication enabled for the Gmail account): Depending on the verification methods set up for 2-step authentication ( enter the phone number used for verification if prompted), you can get a code from:

An SMS text message received from Google;

An app (e.g. Google Authenticator); or

Printed back-up codes.

A phone number set up for account recovery in Gmail: You will receive an SMS text message from Google that contains a verification code.

A secondary email address for Gmail account recovery: Follow the link in a message from Google sent to the email address to reset the password to the Google Account.

You may also be able to enter any current email address to receive a verification code.

A security question for Gmail password recovery: Type the answer to your recovery question following the question under Answer the security question you added to your account.

When you set up the account: Enter the month and year when you created the Gmail (or Google) account.

If you have used your Gmail account in the past five days but have not specified a secondary email address, you will have to wait for these five days to pass.

Once you have established yourself as your account's owner using any of the — and usually multiple — steps above, Gmail will log you in to the account. If, for security reasons, you do want to change your password, follow the Change password link.

Have a secondary email address specified for your Gmail account; or

Have not logged into your Gmail account for 5 days.

Click Forgot password? On Gmail's log-in page.

If prompted, type your full Gmail email address over Enter your email on the Account support page.

Click Next.

Gmail will now ask a number of questions to try to establish you as the owner of the account. For each question:

Enter your answer as well as you can and click Next or

Click Try a different question if you cannot answer or do not have access to the resource – a secondary email address, say, or a phone number

or if you not like to do this step then you can also call a Hotmail password reset number and solve your problem over the phone
