How To Unlock Laptop Password?

How can I unlock my laptop? It was sent to me as  from someone but when I tried to log it on if found out that it needs a user's password to open it.

The type of the laptop is hp model.

If you have windows xp on the laptop
>>turn off your laptop as soon as you turn it on immediately start tapping the f8  key you will get windows advanced options one of the options being safe mode use the arrow ky to highlight it and hit enter

>> you will see a series of things running on the screen and then you will see the computer will boot as it normally does you should get the option of administrator and your user name when you log in.. Get into the administrator option the computer should normally take you to the icons page with large icons this time cause this is safe mode

>> get in to control panel>> get into user accounts and over there you can delete the password of your user account and then save the change and reboot normally

>> hopefully your problem will be fixed

but if you have windows vista on your machine you can try the previous steps but generally it wont work and you might need to format the whole computer

I'm trying to unlock a computer that I got,but it is locked.Its not my computer.Its a laptop gateway,model number W6501.

I put windows vista 7 on my pc and now I can't get in to it, I forgot my administrator pass word. Someone said I might have to format mt whole pc

Have an acer aspire 5720 and it is asking for a password when I turn it on, I cannot boot to safe mode, any other ideas?

You will need to re-flash the BIOS.  If it is a password on the hard drive, really the only thing you can do is reload the operating system.

Go into someone else's account on your PC or set up a new one and click on parental controls. You click on your account and then you change the settings for your PC.

You need to login to the admin profile to do that

I also heard that as soon as you turn it on, you should hold down F8

First try to Press Ctrl+Atl+Delete and then enter Administrator in User Name Box and then press ok. And then right click on my computer and select manage and on the  left side click on user and password and then click on Reset your Password.

I have a administrador  with password when I log in but I forgot my password and I want to un lock it.... I try with Ctrl+alt+Delete, but it can't
