You can simply copy pictures and photos from your computer to the iPod nano using "photo sync" in iTunes. It has to be noted that one cannot import photos into iPod nano directly from a media reader or a digital camera. ITunes 4.7 and the later versions have the attribute to sync images from your computer to an iPod nano or any other iPod with a color display.

Here are the steps in transferring pictures onto your iPod from a computer:

• Connect your iPod to your computer.
• In the iTunes window, below devices you can see the iPod icon. Click on it.
• If the photos pane window does not show up, click onto the Photos tab.
• Select your photo sync option.

Please bear in mind that you cannot choose a folder to which you do not have a write access like a CD. ITunes will only present the option to select a folder only if a later version is installed.

I really dislike that I ned to point iTunes to a directory.  I don't want all 30,000 images on the ipod, so I copy a few to a new directory...so now I have two copies of those images on my hard drive.   I wish I could simply drag and drop images from my computer to the darn ipod - arg!!!!!
That's also true for music and everything else on the ipod due to how iTunes works...

This is ridiculous. I thought that you could take pictures and video with it because I'm going on a major trip and wanted to take videos AND pictures. How do you download pictures without syncing? Also how do you de sync it so you can delete music off of it without deleting them from your itunes music selection?

This is easy. What you need to do is plug your ipod nano in your lead then plug it into your computer. Then, open up your itunes give your ipod and itunes a minute then on the left hand side above where you make your play lists it should come up with devices. It should have the name of your ipod click onto that (or it will automatically come up) then it should have some tabs. Click onto the photo tab at the top and then click SYNC PHOTOS FROM: Check the box next to it. It will sync all the photos from your computer onto your ipod! There you have it, it will do it on ANY ipod!!
