Credit cards been around since the 1950s, Diners Club issued the first one in 1950, In 1958 Bank of America issued the first modern type credit card. :)

Credit cards have been around since the 1950s, and debit cards were introduced in the mid-1970s. By 2006, there were 984 million bank-issued Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards in the United States alone.

I think Banks should allow their clients to get rewards for using their debit cards , no matter what they use it for, whether to make purchases or to pay bills online ?
