You can ask questions here that are more than 250 characters. Just add the rest in an answer to your question. You will find that many people won't take the time to read long questions though but you can do it that way if you wish. We won't delete it .

Most questions that are 250 words will just be bypassed by most users. Who the heck wants to read that much? Along the same lines, long drawn out answers are rarely read completely.

If your question really needs to be long than 250 characters, you can post part of it and then use the edit feature to add in the rest (there is no limit if you do that) but, like the others have said, reeeaaallly long questions might not get any replies.

You should stick around for a bit though, you might like it here!

As stated before, you can add the details as an answer. Many of our users do this. However, there is the danger that they will be overlooked because of the length. There really is no other good site besides here though, my friend. Stick around, you may end up liking us.
