I found about a half dozen sites that show you how to do that but I don't know what kind of phone it is! If you put your question in a search engine with the type of cell phone, there will be sites to tell you how to find it with different Apps.

If it's an IPhone and you updated the IPad to the latest IOS version, there is a feature called "Find my IPhone" built in. You can also contact your provider and they can find most any smart phone's approximate location. Also If you have a friend that also has an IPhone with the most recent IOS they can find it for you as well.
