Because people use them for everything except phone calls. Bigger screen to watch movies, TV, pics, etc.

This is how people get bored & make technology to be completely ridiculous. I hate those tablets & wide screens.

If it continues like this 20 years from now.

Ring ring, (friend is calling) you, sir, please would you help me ? Yes here take the other side of the phone, my friend is calling & I need to answer that. I can't do it on my own cause it's too big & wide.

If the government lets you have them by 2025 or sooner you should have a device on your wrist that will project (hologram) the time, temperature, gps, phone and many more useful items and no bigger than a wristwatch.

Well when cell phones were getting smaller, it was still just a simple digital display. Then came the blackberry which added more usability and function to the cell phone. Now the display has taken over the entire phone. And like TVs and Computer monitors, bigger is better!

i'm not too sure, but hopefully they don't get any bigger anytime soon, i still need to work up to being able to carry a television around town, let alone the phones that are to be made in the future <.< :)

Pffftt ... Back 'in the day' .. I carried one that was about as heavy as a cinder block .. And as big.  Then .. They 'improved' their size to fit in one's jeans pocket, but battery life was a problem and with all the 'things' they wanted a phone to do. It became an impossible task to fit it all into such a small package .. Now .. They are reverting back to the cinderblock .. Go figure ... THAT's progress for ya!
