I want to create a general software for stores. In which I have to make list of categories, products and generating receipt of customer bills. So I need suggestions that which programming language and database is best to create this software?

I'd go with the programming language you feel most comfortable with. At work we mainly use Java and MongoDB, but the options are endless these days.
