Hey guys, anyone have any idea how to connect their Kindle up to the TV?

It depends on which model of Kindle and TV you have really.

The Kindle Fire HD has a micro HDMI output which can be plugged into an HD television. If that's possible withyour device, then here's a video that should help:

You may also want to check out a "casting" app called Avia (aviatheapp.com/) which allows you to cast streaming video to devices such as Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV etc...

I have a Kindle Fire HD 6 so I'm not sure if it does connect to a HDTV really :/

I'm pretty sure your Kindle should have this too, now it's just a question of whether your TV has an hdmi port too.
