Snapchat is an app that is designed so that people can send 'snaps' to each other which are shown on screen for a predetermined amount of time (set by the sender) and will then disappear.

So it seems your Snapchat is working correctly.... However, please be careful because nothing on the internet ever totally disappears. There have been lots of Snapchat photos that people thought were gone forever, suddenly appearing again on the internet.

Because many people use Snapchat to send pictures that they would think twice about sending if they thought that they would not disappear after a few seconds, this is a rather worrying thought.

Snaps can also be saved by taking a screenshot, although a notification is sent to the sender when this happens, to inform them that their photo has been saved. However, there are third party apps that can save snaps without the sender knowing.

My advice, therefore, is not to send photos that you are not happy to have them on the internet when you are famous!
