No, the iPhone 6 Plus does not have sapphire glass, although it was something that Apple originally wanted to include within the phone.  Instead, the iPhone 6 Plus and standard iPhone 6 has what's known as ion-strengthened glass.

Why did Apple choose not to use sapphire glass in the iPhone 6 Plus?

As mentioned above, Apple originally planned to use sapphire glass within the iPhone 6 Plus, but decided to opt for ion-strengthened glass instead.  The reason for this is due to the sapphire glass not passing Apple's test to see if it's strong enough when dropped.

Apple didn't have enough time to work on the sapphire glass issues before the iPhone 6 Plus was released, but it does feature in the Apple Watch.

What's next for sapphire glass?

It's likely that Apple will revisit the idea of having sapphire glass on it's next iPhone model.  Before that can happen, however, they're going to need to sort out its issue of being brittle.  Sapphire glass is pretty expensive, so it's doubtful that Apple will want to be replacing millions of screens that shatter when people inevitably drop their iPhones.

Here's a little video that documents exactly what's included in your iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus:
